A highlight of the 5th grade DC trip every year is visiting the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Arlington National Cemetery’s most iconic memorial. This year, chosen from a host of written essays, Will Bunt (TGS), Brinley Calloway (HES), Huntlann Hancock (KBS), and Audra McLaughlin (TGS) had the honor of participating in the wreath presentation, and an honor it truly was for all the 5th graders to witness.

A big TGS Bear shout out to the Umbaugh family and Creative Outdoor Services for an incredible Fuel Up Friday breakfast today! Johnny V's biscuits, fruit, and juice was a treat that staff talked about all day! What a perfect way to fuel the last Friday before fall break! TYSM!

TGS will be joining with HES, KBS, and MCMS in Hats4Hope this Friday. We HOPE that you will support this effort to give HOPE to children in our community as they battle cancer. Give $1, wear a hat to school, & give HOPE to our local kids!

TGS photo day is TOMORROW, September 24, for all students and staff. Fall pictures go in the yearbook, and there will only be make ups for students who are absent or new. Please plan accordingly, and practice your winningest smile! We can't wait to see those grins!

TG Scott is getting a new entrance and exit! Over the next several days, you will begin to see heavy equipment and other needed materials being brought in and dropped off on our campus as the construction company prepares to begin their work. This will not interfere with our flow of morning arrival and afternoon dismissal traffic. We look forward to this project being completed, making transportation easier for our TGS family!

Thank you to New Providence Baptist Church for generously providing breakfast for our teachers on their first day back to work last week. We appreciate the yummy meal but even more, the continual support for our school and community.

We are so excited for tomorrow! As a reminder, school policy allows you to walk your child in for the first 5 days. Doors will open at 7:30, but no classrooms are open until 7:45. If you come prior to that time, you can wait with your child in the media center or cafeteria. Additionally, we will dismiss early the first three days of school:
2:50 pm on Friday, August 1, 2:55 pm on Monday, August 4, & 3:00 pm on Tuesday, August 5.
