B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Georgia College

M.ED in Early Childhood Education from Mercer University

ESOL Endorsement from West Georgia College

I taught in a private preschool my first two years of teaching.  Then, I worked at Burke Elementary in Macon for nine years teaching PreK, Kindergarten, and First Grade.  I left there when we moved to South Carolina for a year where I taught first grade.  When we returned to Georgia, I was offered the job as fulltime Adult Literacy Instructor in Monroe County.  I held this position for 5 years and wrote the plan for Monroe County to become a Certified Literate Community.  Next, I taught PreK in Monroe County for 2 years.  In 2001, I was given the position that I currently hold as ESOL instructor for the county.

I am married to my wonderful husband, Steve.  We have one son, Alex, who is 24.  We also have two daughters (stepdaughters to me) that are married and each have two children. One of these grandchildren is a student at Hubbard Elementary.  In addition to these children and grandchildren, we have one big dog named Buddy.
